Ok, so most of you know that I LOVE food but don't really enjoy cooking it. Out of all the things I make, I would have to say that making desserts would be my favorite of all to do. So with that said, I decided to make Bryan a fresh strawberry pie (yes all from scratch!) for his birthday. I have to say it turned out so delish!!! Maybe there's something to this "cooking thing" after-all. I do think that the reason I don't LOVE to cook is because you slave in a hot kitchen for hours, with kids at your heals, wanting everything to turn out perfectly, and it all just gets gobbled up SO quickly and usually there's not even a "thank you!" I know I have issues, but I guess slaving in the kitchen is just too much work with not enough appreciation. Because cooking for my family is a part of life, I've learned to just make it as pain free and easy as possible...except on BIRTHDAYS!

That looks sooo good! I think I might have to try one sometime. I know what you mean about cooking with kids around. What I don't like is when I make a dinner, and 1 or more of the kids whine and complain about having to eat it!! Good job on the yummy pie!
I agree that cooking is much more fun when there is appreciation. The pie looked awesome!
Well my birthday is July 9th so if you are making treats for birthdays it is a good thing I don't live too far from you! Happy Belated Brian!
